Working in packaging and labeling; never a boring moment.

Both industry and the end user are challenged to reduce packaging whenever possible. In a heavily regulated environment such as the Pharmaceutical Industry, it is challenging to produce product in a sustainable manner while satisfying content requirements for patient information.

It is valuable that the industry debate with the regulatory bodies about what the required changes will need to be to be able to make broader changes. The end user on the other hand is typically satisfied with easy opening or re-closable packaging and a readable leaflet.

Companies which choose less packaging may do so for both environmental reasons as well as cost reduction reasons; but packaging also functions as protection, even for the patient at the end of a rocky road.

I highly recommend qualitative research, involving industry and patient; This is to determine, within the required regulatory rules, what options there are supporting your business.
